The Finnish entry Lordi turned out to be a real monster Eurovision hit - and their hard rock, scary kit and firework show earned them first place
Greece were hosting the 51st song contest, with 18,000 fans packing an Athens arena to watch the unique spectacle, including the Greek singer, Anna Vissi, who came ninth
The UK's Daz Sampson didn't pull in the votes, coming 19th with just 24 points so it was more like Teenage Strife than Teenage Life
There was a range of musical style, with Germany going for a country and western feel, complete with cut-out cacti
Latvia gave one of the most memorable performances - without any music and strangely featuring a metallic puppet!
Lithuania's song was called We Are Winners but they came in sixth place - still they seem to have enjoyed themselves!
And Sweden's song was Invincible but they took fifth place - with a dramatic number featuring lots of wind and a detachable dress!
Russia had a ballerina popping out of a piano - and Diman Bilan managed second place with Never Let You Go
And Armenia's dancers performed with weird elastic bands, catapulting them into eighth place!
But it was Lordi's night and their victory means the 52nd Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Helsinki next year
