 Германия в нынешнем году решила "ставить" на чемпионов. Вернее, на чемпионку "Евровидения" прошлого года молодую певицу Лену Мейер-Ладрут. Благодаря ей ее родная страна стала хозяйкой конкурса впервые за 27 лет. В финале конкурса-2011 Лена выступит с композицией Taken By A Stranger. И, судя по клипу, 19-летняя девочка предстанет в довольно сексуальном образе.Страна-победительница прошлого года провела два полуфинала на телеканале Pro7. 18 февраля в рамках спецпрограммы телеканала ARD борьбу вели шесть финалистов. Телезрители вновь отдали предпочтение исполнительнице победной композиции прошлого года Лене Майер-Ландрут с песней «Taken By A Stranger». Благодаря немецкой молодой и обаятельной певице Евровидение 2011 состоится в Германии. И в этом году Лена Майер-Ландрут тоже представит свою страну, уже у себя на родине. На общественное голосование Лена Майер-Ландрут вынесла несколько песен из своего альбома, и путем зрительского голосования была выбрана песня «Taken by a stranger». В 2010 году Лена Майер-Ландрут представляла Германию в Норвегии на международном конкурсе Евровидение с песней «Satellite», где и победила с результатом 246 баллов, оторвавшись от группы турецкой MaNga на 76 очков. На сколько баллов оценят ее песню «Taken by a stranger» пока остается загадкой. Лена Майер-Ландрут родилась 23 мая 1991 года в Германии, город Ганновер. С пяти лет Лена начала уже заниматься танцами – сначала бальными, позже современными и даже хип-хопом. К объективам камер Лена привыкла, так как сыграла множество ролей второго плана, хотя и никогда не обучалась актерскому искусству. В свои юные годы Лена уже успела выпустить два альбома – «My Cassette Player» в 2010 и «Good News» в 2011. Since her triumph in Oslo, 19 year-old Lena's life has changed completely. "Satellite" became a Europe-wide chart hit, hitting the number 1 spot in Denmark, Finland, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland, the Top 5 in Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland and the Netherlands, and even breaking into the Top 30 in the UK Charts. In a very Thailand s Bold Move: Tax Breaks, Lena decided that in 2011 she would try to defend her Eurovision crown. She presented the 12 songs from her second studio album, "Good News", to the German public to vote on. Eventually it was decided that "Taken By A Stranger", a quirky blend of pop and electro with a sinister undertone, would be the song she'll sing on stage in Dusseldorf. Can Lena be the first ever Eurovision act to win the contest in consecutive years? We'll find out in May 2011... Lena Meyer-Landrut won the German national final Unser Star Für Oslo and will now be the country's hope in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. It's a story that only pop music could write. Lena Meyer-Landrut from Hanover is actually right in the middle of preparing for her high school exams. She's doing Biology, Sport and History and she's got a lot of revising to do. But now she's going to be representing Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest. On the 29th of May, 2010, just after her 19th birthday, she'll be up on the big stage performing the song Satellite. "It's going to be hard going up to the exams in April, but I'll manage," she says with a sigh. "Then it will almost be relaxing to head off to the Eurovision final." Pretty much out of nowhere - apart from homemade dance videos and a few attempts with the school band - she conquered the audience's heart. "I didn't tell my friends about my first casting, so there wouldn't be any stupid comments if I got kicked out straight away," she says, thinking of her terrible stage fright. Even though Lena danced regularly during her childhood - from ballet to jazz and hip hop - she made her way into music without piano lessons or vocal training. But she got her chance, grabbed it and developed rapidly. Directly after the German national final, her single Satellite went to the top of all of the major download sites. Lena even created a new German download record: never before has a song sold so well in such a short time!
